History of Mason County Action Group

Mason County Action Group was established in 1965. It is a non-profit organization located in Point Pleasant (Mason County), West Virginia. Mason County Action Group was created to provide programs to serve the seniors of Mason County by promoting independence and well-being. The organization’s mission encompasses serving seniors who are both well and frail. We are proud of our history and committed to continue serving all seniors residing in Mason County, WV. Together, we strive to enhance the quality of life of seniors living in Mason County, WV.

General Mission Statement of Mason County Action Group

Mason County Action Group functions as a multi-service, non-profit, community-based program. Our purpose is to maintain and improve daily life for seniors, the disabled, and their caregivers through advocacy, education, promotion of wellness, and provision of support services.

Our general mission is:

To study the needs of the aging and others in Mason County and to take such actions as are necessary to help meet these needs. To encourage, promote, and aid in the establishment of local programs and services for the aging and others. To utilize opportunities to establish demonstration programs and services for the aging and others.

Mason County Action Group In-Home Care Program Mission Statement

The mission of our In-Home Care Program is:

To establish for the aging and others in Mason County comprehensive in-home care programs that will focus on improving and maintaining function, dignity, and quality of life, and ensuring their ability to remain in their own home.

Funding Statement of Mason County Action Group

Mason County Action Group receives funding from a variety of public and private grants and donations. We would not be able to provide our local seniors with the critical services to enhance their lives without the support of our generous financial contributors. Our grant sources include the WV Bureau of Senior Services, Metro Area Agency on Aging, and State of West Virginia Legislature. Private donations are received from local businesses, community organizations, and individuals.
